The starting signal has been given and the foundation stone laid for the extension to the Noor special school in Eckernförde.
With a focus on "intellectual development", the school offers 121 pupils a protected learning and living space. With this in mind, the existing 3,200 m² building is being extended by a further 1,000 m² with spacious and completely barrier-free rooms.
The heart of the extension is the "Green Hall" - a light-flooded steel and glass construction as a central lounge, learning and meeting space. In addition to a canteen, new rooms for therapy services, a media room and four additional classrooms are also being created.
There is a particular focus on climate and resource protection: the sustainable use of materials - such as rubber floors, lime cement plaster and removable prestressed concrete ceilings - ensures durability and a healthy indoor climate. Heating is provided by district heating and a PV system is installed - partly on green roof areas.
Our team took on the implementation planning based on the plans drawn up by rimpf Architektur Gesellschaft für Architektur- und Generalplanung mbH.
Together with the pupils and parents, the foundation stone was laid in a festive ceremony by principal Ulla Engel, district construction manager Kai Schlimbach, district employee Kerstin Wollschläger, architect Stefan Rimpf and district administrator Ingo Sander. Completion of the building, with an investment volume of 3.5 million euros, is scheduled for the end of 2026.
