Construction site tour in Überseequartier

From Citti-Park to Überseequartier: the Trebes engineering team has been offering construction site tours for TH Lübeck students for 10 years.

For the third time, project manager Martin Scheunemann and structural engineer Flavio Liberali presented the large-scale construction site in the southern Überseequartier to 16 participants. Both the technical and logistical challenges of the construction project were highlighted and their solutions presented. "Thanks to the diverse construction methods and building products used in Überseequartier, we were able to get the students excited about the multifaceted range of services provided by civil engineers at Trebes and their projects," says Scheunemann.

More about Überseequartier

The approx. 61 m high office towers Windward & leeward (Project names D1 & D2) characterize the southern, Elbe-facing extension of Überseequartier. The new HafenCity quarter, which is accessible via the "Überseequartier" stop on the U4 underground line, will offer residential, hotel and office use as well as retail, gastronomy, cultural and leisure facilities.

Windward & leeward are of solid construction with load-bearing and bracing stairwell and elevator cores. From the 5th to the 12th floor, the point-supported floor slabs are designed as hollow-core slabs in order to reduce the concrete material requirement and thus the dead loads and inherent deformations of the slabs. The reinforced concrete columns have rectangular and circular cross-sections - in areas subject to high loads, they are designed as a composite construction. Due to the architecturally striking inclined position of the columns, the columns are offset from the inside to the outside from the 2nd to the 5th floor.

A glass element façade clads the office buildings, while mullion and transom constructions are used in the retail and entrance areas. The 2nd floor is also closed off by a filigree glass roof, which serves as weather protection for the public space connecting the Überseequartier buildings. With inner courtyards and terraces, the building extends Lee Its floor plan from the 5th floor to the first floor faces east, while the 13th floor is intended for restaurant use.
