This year, on October 11-12, we highlighted hybrid timber construction, which optimally combines the strengths of wood and concrete and also takes account of increasingly scarce resources.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Jörg Schänzlin from Biberach University of Applied Sciences, who explained the theoretical and practical aspects of successful planning implementation.
The focus here was on the long-term behavior of the materials and its representation in calculation methods - especially when using cross-laminated timber. Fire protection was also a topic, including possible measurements despite the lack of regulations.
In addition to standardization and technical regulations, the limits of the construction method and procedures for non-"everyday problems" were also examined.
Conclusion of all participants? We will definitely promote this innovative and sustainable construction method!
