"Fast charging, carefree driving" - according to this motto, two hundred charging parks with a total of 1,000 charging stations will be set up at unmanaged rest areas on Germany's freeways by 2026.
The first fast-charging park has now been opened on the A21, marking the start of the nationwide expansion of the fast-charging infrastructure along the highway network.
"We developed three different construction types using prefabricated steel and concrete parts in order to erect the loading parks both cost-effectively and quickly in terms of assembly and production," explains project manager Honorata Franek-Behrent. Depending on the respective site requirements (wind and snow load zones, earthquake effects and ground conditions), they are used as series-ready prefabricated solutions in 99 loading parks.
